DAY 24: "Celebration" (Series: Advent Emotions)

“The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” (John 1:14 NIV)

How can you embrace the joy and light of Christ’s birth today? Christmas Eve marks the culmination of Advent, a time of waiting, longing, and preparing. Now, we celebrate the arrival of Emmanuel—God with us. The birth of Jesus is not just a historical event; it is a living promise of hope, peace, joy, and love made real in our lives.

Think of the shepherds running to see the newborn King, their hearts bursting with joy. Imagine the Magi bowing in awe before the Christ child.

This is a time to rejoice, not because life is perfect, but because God’s love is perfect.

As you prepare for Christmas Day, let the light of Christ fill your heart. Celebrate the beauty of God’s gift and the ways His presence transforms your life. Share that joy with others, letting the love of Jesus shine brightly through you.

Mental Health Moment

Celebration doesn’t have to be extravagant. Find small ways to mark the joy of the season:

  • light a candle,

  • play a favourite carol, or

  • reflect on the ways God has blessed you this year.

Even quiet moments can be rich with meaning and gratitude.

Let’s Reflect

How can you make space to celebrate Christ’s birth today?

• Who in your life could use a reminder of the joy and light of this season?

Joy to the world, the Lord is come! Let earth receive her King.”- Isaac Watts

Prayer

Lord, thank You for the gift of Your Son, the light of the world. Fill my heart with joy and gratitude as I celebrate His birth. Help me to share that joy with those around me, reflecting Your love in all I do. Let this day be a reminder of Your grace and goodness. Amen.
