“In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind”. (John 1:4) Read full Bible passage: John 1:1-18
Think about the eye. What is its primary function? To interpret light, is it not?
If the eye is faulty, it makes no difference how brightly the light around may be shining, one is not going to benefit from it. However, the weakness of one’s eyes do not affect the light. The light is constant.
In our world there is a similar problem, not so much with physical sight, but with spiritual sight.
In Jesus’ day, as in ours, many were so blinded by their own self-righteousness, and their pursuit of human wisdom, that when the living Word of God was teaching and ministering right in their midst, they did not recognise or receive Him.
Praise God for His grace that brings an opening to those eyes; for the light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ which penetrates the darkest of hearts.
Prayer
“Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
that saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost but now am found,
was blind but now I see”.
