Who is SAMWAY

 - A Brief  Introduction - 

Since our union  as husband and wife, we always had an inner conviction that our coming together was designed by God to accomplish His plans and purposes in this generation. Of course, His plans are so much bigger than any indiviusal or couple but we are grateful to play our small part in what He is busy doing.

So why "Samway" - well SAMantha and WAYne! And "ministries"? Well, "ministry" is from the Greek word diakoneo, meaning "to serve" or douleuo, meaning "to serve as a slave."  That's what we are on about - serving the purposes of God, by His grace and in His strength and gifting.

Even though the name of this overarching "ministry" or channel of service, is a play on our names, it really is not about Samantha or Wayne. It's about God (as already alluded to) and people - real people, facing real challenges as well as victories; real tragedy and real joy; real heartache and real happiness.

It's our desire to be always be that couple who "know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary" (Isaiah 50:4)

We have a pool of joint experiences, to draw from - both on a personal level (not necessary to get into that here - let it suffice to say that we know what it means to smile through the sorrow and praise through the pain) as well as a professional level. 

Born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa, we then spent two years in Auckland, New Zealand before settling in Australia.

Samantha has served in various fields including, among others, the Financial and Asset Management sector as well as Not-for-profit sector (including Mercy Ships, Churches Education Commission and of course, within the church). Her greatest resume credential would have to be her investment in the lives of our three sons, Liam, Ezekiel and Nathanael.

Wayne has served in different roles over the years including, among other things:Family & Community Worker, Air Traffic Controller, Unit Trust Administration Officer,Teacher. He currently serves as an ordained Pastor of the Lutheran Church of Australia. 

More important than what we do (or have done)is who we are - we are Christians (who treasure our Lord and His Word), a Husband and Wife (who treasure each other), a Dad and Mum (who treasure our sons).
